Services

The library offers a variety of services in addition to making books and other materials available for patrons to borrow or use in the library itself. These include the following:

Fifteen computers, all with Internet access, are ready every day for use by patrons or visitors to the library. Using them, young and old alike play games, do research, check e-mail and FaceBook accounts and write poetry and novels.

The library also offers wi-fi so visitors can bring their own laptops, smart phones or tablets to the library and log onto the Internet any time they want to.

A remarkably efficient copy machine allows visitors to make their own photocopies. It also can be used as a scanner to scan documents and send them via e-mail directly from that machine.

If a patron seeks material that the Wimberley Village Library doesn't have right at hand, the staff can borrow the desired items from other libraries. The service is known as interlibrary loan, and materials borrowed can be books, CDs, CD books, DVDs and, in some cases reference works.

Two members of the library staff are certified by the state as notary publics, and they can witness signatures on official documents without charging a fee for the service. The notary service is available only between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
