The Youth Services room is designed to serve children and the adults who care for them. There are over 4,000 titles of books for children, over 200 audio books and over 200 DVDs available for check out in the children’s collection. The collection is always growing and changing to meet the needs of the community. The books and media are divided into sections by interest and reading levels. Please feel free to ask a library staff person for assistance if you are having trouble locating an item.
Computers:
There is one computer that is exclusively for parents with children or children under 12 yrs old. There is also a stand up computer available to access the library catalog.
Field Trips:
Age appropriate field trips for groups such as, school classes, scout troops and homeschoolers are available with prior planning with a librarian.
Summer Reading
Every summer the library offers an Incentive Reading Program along with special events for school-age children. Information about these programs will be available in May 2011. The Toddler Time and Story Time programs continue throughout the year. For more information about these programs please visit their page which can be accessed under library services.

The book club meets every Thursday at 3:30-4:15pm between the months of September and April. The club is designed for children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade to help foster an interest in chapter books. During a typical meeting, attendees make a craft related to the book being introduced that day from the Magic Tree House series. Then the fun begins! Jack and Annie puppets, the main characters of the series, introduce the day’s featured book from the series. Extra copies of the books are available for check out if parents/caretaker wants to finish reading the book with their child.
